French Teacher
The Elementary School French Teacher imparts foundational French language skills to students engagingly and interactively. This role involves creating a positive learning environment, designing curriculum, and fostering cultural appreciation while promoting language proficiency among grades 3-8 elementary school students.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop an age-appropriate (for grades 3-8) French language curriculum aligned with educational standards, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
- Lesson Planning: Prepare and execute engaging lesson plans, incorporating various teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Language Instruction: Teach fundamental grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation of the French language.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking: Evaluate students’ language proficiency through quizzes, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians through report cards and parent/teacher meetings.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging student participation and facilitating effective communication in French while maintaining and fostering Islamic values.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to integrate French language learning into cross-curricular activities and school events.
- Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students’ progress, learning goals, and strategies to support language development at home.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; specialization in French language or literature is preferred.
- Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience.
- Proficiency in French, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and motivate elementary school students.
- Familiarity with educational technology and resources for language learning.
