Arabic Language Teacher

Arabic is not just a subject at TES. It is a connection to the Qur'an, to Islamic scholarship, and to a student's identity as a Muslim. The right candidate understands that weight and brings both linguistic competence and genuine passion for helping students build a meaningful relationship with the language of their deen.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Deliver structured, sequential Arabic language instruction across Grades 1–8, covering reading, writing, speaking, listening, and foundational grammar, aligned with the school's Arabic scope and sequence.
  • Differentiate effectively for a wide range of learners: heritage speakers, students with Qur'anic school backgrounds, and students with no prior Arabic exposure, often within the same classroom.
  • Integrate Qur'anic vocabulary, Islamic terminology, and du'a language meaningfully into instruction, not as add-ons, but as the living context for language learning.
  • Maintain a structured, purposeful classroom environment where students develop discipline in their language learning and a genuine appreciation for Arabic as the language of the Qur'an.
  • Conduct varied assessments, track proficiency growth over time, and provide clear feedback to students and families through report cards and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Collaborate with Qur'an and Islamic Studies teachers to reinforce vocabulary and concepts across subjects and to support school-wide tarbiyah goals.
  • Communicate professionally with parents about student progress and provide practical strategies families can use to reinforce Arabic at home.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience
  • Native or near-native Arabic proficiency; formal training in Arabic linguistics or Qur'anic sciences is a strong asset
  • Experience teaching Arabic to non-native or mixed-proficiency learners at the elementary level
  • Deeply committed to Islamic education, tarbiyah, and the school's mission
