Quran Teacher
Reporting directly to the school's Academic Coordinator and Principal; the Qur’an teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives to that follow Our’an and Sunnah and meet academic expectations.
- Prepare long-range plans, unit plans, and homework materials.
- Teach a full range of subject areas including tajweed rules, recitation of Qur’an with proper makharij and memorization of various suwar and their meaning.
- Supervise students during classes and at other times during the school day, including breaks.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Discuss students’ progress and concerns with parents and administrators.
- Prepare for and attend parent-teacher interviews and other functions.
- Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within the classroom.
- Conduct formal and informal ongoing assessments of students, including daily agenda recording.
- Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Understanding and application of correct Tajweed rules.
- Fluent recitation of the Qur’an.
- Ijazah in Tajweed and/or memorization preferred.
- Hifz ul Qur’an is an asset.
- Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
- Friendly, nurturing, attentive, and respectful characteristics.
- Excellent interpersonal and pragmatic skills.
